This event looks interesting with some great views and a good challenge.

Most gravel events are giving gps routes in advance. Don't like the map as you go aspect. Not much info on if this is a ride or race. How long has this event existed?

Bob, I'm pretty sure this is the first year. I'm not sure why you think they will not provide a route in advance.  On their FB page (linked on the website front page) they say they are working on finalizing the routes and turn by turn instructions.

Anyway, I'm registered for the 105 and looking forward to the ride.

FYI, GPS routes have been provided for this event.  I'll report back next week on how the 105 goes.

This was great event.  I rode the 105.  Nice route.  A combination of gravel, packed sand, loose sand, and variable condition pavement sections linking them all.  The City of Palestine was super supportive of the event and good food was provided Friday and Saturday night.  There are some pics posted on Instagram under #camino205.

FYI, this was a RIDE, not a RACE.

RECOMMENDED.

I did the 105 and it was a great race.  I say race because their were results posted.  Even had a good beer joint in Palestine!
