I hope everyone is recovering well from DK!

Just a reminder to get signed up for the 1st annual Grinder Nationals in Lawrence, Kansas on June 24, 2017. We have a fun & challenging course, some awesome national champion jerseys to award and over 150 prizes to give away in the raffle.

We also need a few more volunteers if your legs are not recovered yet from DK.

Thanks & I hope to see you at Grinder  Nationals!

I'm not able to see a "Who's Registered" in Bikereg.  Am I missing it, or is it not being shown?

So is this for this year only Troy or are you planning for this for next year? Or is this too early to tell. Newbie here so maybe the Grinder Nationals change locations for year to year I don't know.

We plan on having the event every year - right now the plan is the Lawrence area again for next year but there is the possibility of eventually moving it - We will see what works best for the event.

We purposely did not show who's racing so a rider could not cherry pick a category in an attempt to win a national championship. We want riders to pick a category and come out and do their best and let the chips fall where they may

Thanks

I just want to get an idea if there are 5 people registered or 1000.   I'll be honest with you, that's misguided reason.   Most other events DO show whos registered.

From a racer standpoint (and lets face it, most of us have no aspirations of winning), I/we want to know if the event is going to be well attended (I want that) before I drive 14 hours to race with a dozen people.  So not being able to see entries turns many off for registering.

we are around 50 and are guessing it will end up closer to 100 for the first year.

Thanks Troy:

I didn't see your earlier post.

I don't think you will have to worry about me cherry picking a group unless it's the Old Geezer's Club. This is all so new to me but I do have some grit from doing long distance riding as you have to be able to do/decide things on the fly sometimes. On some of them this is the main rule. You can advance your bike by riding/pushing/pulling/ or dragging your bike. I hope I don't ever have to drag my gravel bike. It's a lot heavier than my race road bike. [rolleyes] I never have had to do a water crossing with it though. I did do the sand pit thingy twice though at the Tour de Tuscon.

I wish you the best of luck. However, I would choose a date next year that doesn't create a conflict with the Tour de Lyon County. TdLC is a race that benefits the Special Olympics of Kansas and it seems in bad taste to draw away racers from that event.
