Hey All, I've just stumbled across a couple of posts here about the Bish Bash Bosh, which I will now refer to as BBB, if you don't mind.

I like everything about the geometry, not crazy about the graphics and they don't have the grey in my size, but oh well...

So here's the real thing.  Every bike I have seen online has either a compact double mtb crankset or a single.  Are the chainstays so big that regular old cranksets won't work?  I want to use this bike mostly for all day riding and brevets.  Where I live a dirt road here and there is absolutely necessary to take in order to get the nice rides and avoid main highways.  So there you go, gravel bikes are perfect.

The two cranksets I would want to use the most would be my Shimano triple 10 sp 5703, which is a 50-39-30 and a Sugino triple 48-36-24.

Anyone know if these would work?

Thanks!

Might be worth contacting On One about this.

I do remember trawling through a couple of very large Euro forum threads on the frameset/bike (lots of build pics) some time ago, but can't remember seeing a triple.

As for the geo (other frame colour options) the Fyxation carbon gravel bike's geo is uncannily similar. Also seen one or two China-direct framesets online with very similar numbers. Depends what your budget would be.

I did email On One and I just got their response this morning.

They don't know.  They never tried it.

I love triples for my kind of riding, but I guess they have become "ancient" in the biking world.  I'll check out the Fyxation.  Thanks for the suggestion.

My suggestion would be to check the maximum chainring size for a double.  This essentially is position of the inner two chainrings.  Some triples might position the inner chainring slightly farther inward, but generally this is not the case.

So if the BBBosh can fit a 50/34, and if there is a 50/40/30 triple crankset with a compatible bottom bracket, I don't see what issues you would have as the 50t chainring on the triple would be even farther from the chainrings than the 50t of the double.  The 30/40 inner and middle chainrings should increase the clearance to the chainstays.

Is there something I'm overlooking???

Regards,
Greg
