I put this bike together in 2013 after buying the alu frame and steel forks in 2001. The idea in 2001 was to builld an audax bike but due to illness the idea was shelved. After assembly the bike has always been used on a mixture of gravel, dirt and asphalt but mostly gravel and dirt.
There are no `state of the art´parts and no carbon fiber or kevlar. However the bike does it´s job very well and is extremely comfortable under all conditions.

The bike:
Nishiki alu frame with steel fork.
Brooks rubber saddle.
Cantilever front brake.
Disc rear brake.
Schwalbe Sammy Slick 700x38 tires.
Spencer alu core mudguards.
Sun Tour bar end shifters due to arthritis in the right hand.
Double layer gel handlebar tape.
Shimano SPD pedals.

The best solo bike I´ve had in 40 years of cycling and it did´nt cost a fortune.

Very Nice! I assemble Nishiki bikes for Dicks' Sporting Goods and there are a few of them that seem pretty decent for the money. Yours looks great and it sounds like it rides well too. Good Job...
