Anyone raced the
Rough Roubaix? Thoughts? Pics? Anything you'd like to share?

I have done quite a few of
Shenandoah Mountain Touring's races. This one is new to me.

Last year was the first for the Rough Roubaix and I was there since it's in my backyard. Promoter Chris Scott is awesome and does a first class job. Turnout was small due to weather - probably 20+ riders, as the temps were in the 40s and pouring rain. Most opted for the shorter 60 mile route due to the nasty cold and wet conditions, so really not a fair assessment of this event.
The shorter route misses the climbing over into West Virginia and basically the crazy stuff. The first 10-15 miles you pass dozens of Mennonites in horse and buggies heading to church on a Sunday morning here in our Shenandoah Valley - a unique and amazing sight to share on a bike. This has the potential to be a great event, and I will definitely be back.
