Seems as though there are quite a few people here that use the Thunder Burts for their gravel bikes.  I have a 27.5 rigid hardtail that I use as a gravel bike for some rougher courses.  I currently have BG Rock N Roads but was thinking the Thunder Burts might be a little faster.  Any thoughts on that and suggestions on width would be appreciated.

Running the 650b 2.1 Liteskin version tubeless for the last couple of months.
My dry rides are over anything from fairly smooth hardpacked gravel to hairy singletrack. I seek out the singletrack more often[biggrin].

As long as the ground is fairly hard-packed -even with a little loose on top- I find them pretty good. Once I come across deeper sandy patches, at speed the front tyre starts to wander somewhat; things get a bit interesting. Probably due to the low knob height centre-tread.

Can fit a 2.25 up front, but I don't think I really need that little extra width (and weight) for my riding conditions.

I also have 2.1 lite skins. Unless you ride a lot of single track 2.25s are overkill. The lieskins have a very thin casing and are very fast but the sankeskins are a better choice uf you worry about flats.

I have 27.5x2.1 snake skin front and rear. They are reasonably fast rolling and comfortable. Great tire for gravel. I have a 700c wheel set for my bike, as well. I have yet to use the 700c set. I just love the feel of the 27.5x2.1. probably giving up a little bit of speed, but they just feel great.
