THE TRANSFER PERIOD IS LOCKED AND DONE. THIS THREAD IS LOCKED. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR LODGING, PLEASE HIT UP THE DK LODGING THREAD. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2018 Dirty Kanza Transfer Details This is the official Dirty Kanza transfer thread for 2018.
Please use this thread to post:
the Dirty Kanza entry you're looking to get the Dirty Kanza entry you're looking to get rid of and/or any other Dirty Kanza transfer/entry information that you need help with. This will help to keep all of the requests in one spot. From here you all can contact each other privately to work out the details.

Please note: We at Riding Gravel are not assisting with any of this. We're just providing you a spot to connect. Please address any questions to Dirty Kanza. See below for all of the information. ]
------------------------------
2018 DIRTY KANZA EVENT REGISTRATION TRANSFER POLICY AND PROCEDURE
Due to high demand, we are unable to accommodate everyone who wishes to participate in the Dirty Kanza gravel road bicycling challenge. Therefore, a lottery selection process was implemented to determine who will be allowed to participate in the 2018 Dirty Kanza. That lottery selection process occurred on January 13, 2018. The event field is now full, and registration is officially closed. If you were not lucky enough to get in, all hope is not lost. We fully understand that "life happens", and when that many folks sign up for an event that many months in advance, a certain few will have situations arise that prevent them from attending. So... we have designed a process through which Dirty Kanza event entries can be transferred. Please read the following carefully...
Refund and Transfer Policy
All Dirty Kanza registration fees are non-refundable and cannot be deferred to a following year. However, event registrations may be transferred, if done so before the deadline of April 1, 2018. Requests for transfer received after April 1st will be denied. No exceptions.
2018 Dirty Kanza Event Entry Transfer Procedure
It is the responsibility of the person currently registered for Dirty Kanza to find someone to acquire their event entry. The good folks at ridinggravel.com will once again be hosting a discussion forum, which will serve as the place to find someone to take your spot, or to find an event entry that is being offered for transfer.
Event entries must remain in the original event distance. In other words, a 100-mile entry cannot be transferred to a 200-mile category. Entries may be transferred to a different category/gender within the same event distance.
The individual currently registered for Dirty Kanza must submit an email to dirtykanzatransfers@gmail.com requesting the transfer. The new participant assuming the transfer MUST be cc’d on this email.
Dirty Kanza Promotions will then “Reply All” with further instructions to keep the transfer process moving forward. These instructions will include a request to the new participant to send payment for the event entry to Dirty Kanza Promotions. Once payment has been received, the transfer process will continue.
A check will then be issued by Dirty Kanza Promotions to the original owner of the event entry, for the original cost minus a $30 processing fee.
Once the transfer has been completed, both parties will receive a confirmation email from Dirty Kanza Promotions.
Both parties will be expected to respond to requests made by Dirty Kanza Promotions in a timely fashion. Failure to do so will void the entire transfer process.
Dirty Kanza Promotions will not manage a wait list, nor will we act as “match maker” to help anyone find an entry.
Do not simply “give” your DK entry to someone, then have them show up for Rider Sign-In. All riders will be required to show a government-issued photo I.D. in order to obtain their event packet. If they aren’t on our roster, they won’t be allowed to ride. No exceptions.
Note: Deadline for all entry transfers and all registration changes is Sunday, April 1, 2018 at 11:59pm CST.
Questions about this procedure can be submitted to: dirtykanzatransfers@gmail.com

I'm seeking an 200 mile entry for the 2018 Dirty Kanza. My buddy and I have driven down from Michigan and completed the 200 each of the last two year but did not both get selected this time. Please let me know if you have a 200 mile entry available. My email is glowingrocks@yahoo.com . Thanks!

I am interested in a entry for the 200 mile 2018 Dirty Kanza in the event I am not selected from the lottery. This will be my 3rd DK200, I've completed the last 2 and am trying to be a 5 time finisher. At 60+ years of age each time, I won't be able to get to this goal if I miss years due to the lottery probably. This is my one race a year I train for all year, and have been training hard since Sept. . Email is srode1@live.com

Also looking for a 200-mile entry for Dirty Kanza, since not being a former finisher it seems like the chances of my lottery entry winning are pretty low. I was one of the many who got caught out by the online entry process for the 2017 race after training pretty hard though the fall and early winter of 2016, and would hate to miss out again and be in the same position yet again next year... If this post is still up, I will still be looking. Thank much for considering me.

I am looking for a 200 mile entry. Didn't know the new registration system until the day after the application process closed. This is a bucket list item for my 50th birthday. Thanks for considering me.

Hello all,
Just wanted to get my name in early for a possible transfer registration for the DK200 in the event I don't get selected. Good luck to everybody and I hope you all get in, too. Btroesch@indiana.edu
Thanks!
Beau
..didn’t get selected...I’d be grateful to take your registration if it doesn’t work out for you. You can also text me 812-631-0955. I’ll cover all the costs, I can do PayPal, Venmo, check, money gram, travelers checks (can you still get those?), good old cash, card, etc. You name it, you got it. Thanks again!

If my friends and I get in as a 3 person group, my wife has decided she wants to join us. She would be looking for a 50 mile spot. Once the lottery has been announced, I will know if we need a spot or not.
