Has anyone used an air suspension fork for Salsa Cutthroat? I wonder if a standard MTB fork would work similar to the Lauf Trail Racer 29er fork.

Axle to crown lengths:

  • Salsa Cutthroat rigid fork: 483mm
  • Lauf Trail Racer 29er fork: 485mm
  • RockShox Reba 29"/100mm: 506mm

Last year I moved the Fox Stepcast from my mtb over to my Cutthroat for a few rides.   It was nice, and it made things a fair bit more comfortable.  I didn't really notice much change in efficiency (when climbing etc.).   One thing it didn't improve much - washboard. We get a lot of it around here, and I was hoping it would really help.  Not really.  Just don't think it can cycle through the suspension fast enough.  I've heard different things about the Lauf - some say it really improves washboard, others not at all.

Only problem is with A to C measurements. The cutthroat is designed for a mtb suspension fork. So even if you go Lauf, you can’t go withe the gravel version.
