This is the 3rd running of the Morganzo and it's a beautiful course at the foot of the Bridger mountain range just outside of Bozeman, MT. Bring beer to share. See ya out there for Double Nickels on the Grime!

Recap of the 2014 Morganzo 55: Double Nickels on the Grime.

First, a couple photos...

Clarissa & Sarah cruising down toward the ol' red grain elevator along one of the many gorgeous stretches of the Morganzo.

Sam is confused. The sign says impassable. Can his Pugsley handle epic water features of this magnitude?

It was a warm (81 F) and gorgeous day for the 3rd annual running of the Morganzo in the shadow of the Bridger mountains just north of Bozeman, MT. The largest gathering of riders ever departed a few minutes after 9am, but was short one rider. Dylan T. had a significant mechanical and had to ride 20 miles back to his house to swap out a wheel. But even with the extra 40 miles he would still finish in the middle of the pack by absolutely crushing the course.

Matthew, Ray, Adam & Ben charged hard out of the gate and would not be seen again by this reporter until they handed me a cold one at the finish line.

My ride was a little more casual. Historically the Morganzo has not been run by too many racers, mostly just dudes like me who love the sights of the Montana landscape and the sounds of gravel & dirt under their tires.

Surprise ice cream sandwiches at mile 34 boosted our energy level for the final stretch, which finishes with a descent that this year was more washboarded than in the past.

Hope to see you out there next year!
