Finally have my Silex arrived.
Got it yesterday and have only cycled home from the LBS.

First reflection is that the bike is rather high in the front which will be most welcome on my commute ride that passes by Gothenburg with some traffic, I believe the high front end will give me good overview over the traffic.

I took the 400 model due to the double chainring with a tighter cassette than the 600 model that runs with a single chainring (44) and a wide cassette due to its most of the time windy conditions here.

The bike comes with what seems to be Merida specific Maxxis 33 mm tire called Razzo unfortunately non TL.
I will use them still for commuting with tubes.

Missing on the bike to be a full commuter is the mudguards, rack and bottle cages. I will use SKS longboard mudguards and the Thule Pack n Pedal rack with pannier for my 21k commute.

Picture will come soon.

More pics will come later on as well as a small ride report when I have hade a chance to ride the bike a bit more.

Have used the bike some more now and I must say that it’s extremely comfortable.
Today did I took a detour out on some gravel. No problem for the bike at all, just a rookie on the bike it self in this habitat.

I like the paint job too.  Its a good looking bike.

Yup, that front end is tall.  should be a good riding bike and great for longer days in the saddle.

Went out on single track and gravel “road” with soft surface (I believe they are building running trails. The rider were not feeling secure on those conditions.
Then it was way better on hard packed gravel.
And the best part was the ice cream afterwards🍦
