Hi, I am Andy Tetmeyer at Hed Wheels.  We're making a frame that fits the into the "small builders" mold.
Erik Noren of Peacock Groove is making some frames to our spec.  They're steel and as gravel and/or adventure specific as we could reasonably get them.  They have:
front and rear through axle for stiffness and tracking
160 mm front and 140 rear post mount disc
big stiff chainstays for stiffness and effciency
relatively small seatstays for some comfort
regular size seat tube, for 27.2mm seatpost
PFBB30
gobs of braze-ons.
slightly sloping TT

Very nice.

Is the rear spacing 142mm?

We've gone through 3 prototypes now, Steve's brown bike is the third.  We're down to cosmetic changes now - a change on front brake cable routing, and we want to get all other cables internal.  We'll keep tire spacing big, Steve's goes 650b or 700 and that air volume with the 650b mountain tires is super nice on rough and rocky courses.  We'll build in small batches, and sell both direct and through dealers. Price is likely to be $2700 including Ardennes Plus FR disc brake wheels, Hed GTO bar and GTO stem.

Andy, I saw the bike in Vegas; looked great. Question: what's that on the stem in the bike pictured? A cue sheet holder?

yes, that is a cue sheet holder.
Actually, it is our stem located bottle cage mount, but it works nicely as a place to clip cue sheets.
