It would be great to hear some thoughts on the weekend. I think it would be great also to hear Bens story of the evening[wink]. g Ted posted about his walk around town. Ben disappeared. What happened? Let's hope he was kidnapped by surly trolls and has one hell of a story.

Hey Sniff,

We were all just hanging out at the bar having a great time. Bar time came and GT headed out with the other guys we were with. I ran into someone from Canada who has raced the Frozen 40 twice (I've been one of two directors for the last couple years) and was chatting with him and some others from Thunder Bay. GT went back with the guys to our room to pick up his bag and then left. We all assumed that he has his way planned. He didn't mention anything to us. He could've stayed at the room and we would have helped grab a cab, Lyft, Uber or bus if we had known he wasn't aware the options in Minneapolis. We were all a little confused in the morning of what had gone on. I was quite concerned that something had happened to him.

As far as me disappearing, I was sitting in the lobby of our hotel (at the base of the elevators) with a couple groups. It really wasn't all that crazy. Sad to report I didn't have any crazy adventure. I did meet some great people. Saturday was good at the show. I was connecting with people for Mountain Bike Radio mainly. Made it to the final of that fatbike race but lost in the final (big deal because the winner was to win a new Blackborow....).

Yeah, all went quite well actually. There is too much to do for one person to do to talk to all the people and get all the goods for Mountain Bike Radio, then to talk part of the time with people about Riding Gravel. Good thing to have Guitar Ted around to get some specifics and meet with people. I will say that, although people will complain about this and that and etc, QBP is filled with some great people. They put on a first rate weekend for a lot of people. I'm very happy to ride their bikes and, just based on the people at the company, whether it's Salsa, Surly, etc, I'd recommend them to people. First rate crew over there.

I just wish Salsa would go back to letting us little guys sell their bikes without minimum showroom requirements. [frown]

@BluesDawg,

Tough gig for sure. It's a hard balance for any business. On one hand, you'd like to accomodate everyone and then on the other there are 100 people (normal people like any of us) back at HQ that get all the stuff done who want to get paid and expect the same money and benefits that everyone else does too. We all have faces to feed. Then, like you said, the small guy like you gets shut out and has to go elsewhere. They your income is affected and your people are affected.
