Was anyone on course stuck behind the stopped train blocking the course towards the end of the race? I'd sure love to hear a few stories.

Cheers!

The train we saw was at mile 197, around 11:00pm. We heard the train blowing it's whistle for probably 10 minutes, and then saw the crossing lights when we rounded the corner at mile 196.  Fortunately for us, the train cleared about 200-400 yards before we arrived at the crossing, so no stopping.

I was! (9 something pm?) Sat there with a small group of people for about 10 minutes. Concerns about time were well out the window for me by then so it was more just cool than an annoyance. Snickers and bacon were passed around while we waited.

Interesting, the announcers at the finish line stated there was a large train that stopped on the tracks, after 45 minutes of the train blocking the the course the announcer said they found a reroute around the training for the riders, but it was going to add an additional 2 miles. Guess you can't control everything.

I think it held up the 15-hour finishers, based on some comments on Strava by a buddy. I rolled through a bit later, it was gone.
