Any thoughts on this wheelset? The initial reviews seem positive and the weight and price look quite competitive. The 1500g model is probably sub-1500g since Gravel Cyclist found the 1650g to actually weigh 1620g with rim strips and valves installed.

My question is mainly regarding the width. 23mm seems great particularly at this weight, but if running 35mm tires I'm concerned this may actually be too wide? I imagine some of the buib shape that would be lost actually allows the tire to move around and aid traction and comfort.

Clement says availability expected in June.

I like the early reports on these, but I'm not an early adopter and would wait a year. The specs are what I am looking for though in a set of wheels. At those prices  I would rather have a custom wheelset from a builder.

25deep with a 23mm internal is hard to find.I haven't seen any and I really like that about them.

That's a good point, the rims are a bit unlike others.  Still, price seems a bit hefty for what it is.

Sounds just like what I'm looking for and at a good price.  Thanks for the heads up.  I've been eyeing the HED Ardennes Plus from Jensons for $700.  These are comparable and a little wider which I think I'd like to try.  I wonder how soon they will be available.

Really sounds like a nice set of wheels with bonus points for the wide rim.

So, has anyone seen these wheels for sale yet since it is now past the expected June release?

I was wondering the same thing since I couldn't find them anywhere.  I emailed Clement and was told they have not yet started production on these wheels so they were not shipping yet and that is why they were not for sale anywhere.  No other explanation or timetable was given.

Hmmmm, maybe this is why Clement is not selling these yet.

So did anybody actually buy these wheel sets? Does $450 for a slightly used set sound like a fair price?

Thanks

If it was easy it wouldn't be a memory. You just hope you don't have all your memories in the same ride. been there dun that Zman

Have any of you tried this wheelset yet?

I have orderns a Merida Silex 400 that has a wheelset non TLR.
My thought is to have the stock wheelset when I commute and bye an additional wheelset when I’m going of tarmac and the Ushuaia wheelset seems to be an interesting option for 299£
