I would post all your comments over at gravelcyclist.com as all those boys are from Florida.

Hey GS, Fla rider here too, Tampa south area. Central FLa is tough to find any good routes, heading north is where there seems to be some good rides. What I have discovered is a few Rail trails that have spurs you can explore. One of them is the Van Fleet trail, the other is Withlacoochee rail trail. Also some southern areas near Venice Fla worth checking out too. While these spots are ok they are remote and having another rider is nice.  If you want to hit one of these up let me know and we could possibly meetup sometime.

Like Zman said the other forum guys are from Fla and are basically professional riders. Not much activity as far as organized rides go in Fla but the Dirty Pecan looks interesting. Good Luck on your quest.

Hers one I'm thinking about  http://www.ridinggravel.com/event/dirty-hamster-100-2018/

The Green Swamp has a lot of lime rock roads. Check out Gravelmap to spot some potential areas.
